those metal sonics were Mecha Sonic and Silver Sonic. Mecha Sonic is from Sonic & Knuckles. He also was in the Archie Sonic comics. Silver Sonic was in Sonic 2, he was later upgraded in Sonic Adventure 1, as a easter egg in the game
